Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology Chemistry and Physics. JOS accepts candidates with pass at the Remedial Science Programme of the University of Jos. At least a pass in Technical Drawing is an advantage but not requirement
Science Laboratory Technology is a dynamic undergraduate programme that equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge in the sciences, covering core areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, chemical analysis, physics instrumentation, and research methodology. Students develop strong hands-on competencies in laboratory procedures, quality control, and scientific investigation across biological, chemical, and physical sciences. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as laboratory scientists in hospitals and diagnostic centres, research institutions, food and beverage industries, and environmental monitoring agencies. The programme is professionally regulated by the Institute of Science Laboratory Technology of Nigeria (ISLT), which sets standards for practice and certification. Many graduates also advance into postgraduate studies or transition into related fields such as public health and industrial chemistry.
