Admission requirements for Procurement & Supply Chain Management at Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Ekiti State.
The Minimum Entry requirements into National Diploma (ND) in Purchasing and Supply are five (5) Credits passes in WASC/NECO/GCE O’level/SSCE/NABTEB Examination at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects must include: 1. English Language; 2. Mathematics; 3. Any one (1) of the following: Economics, Commerce, Principles of Accounts/Book keeping/Financial Accounting, Store Keeping/Store Management; 4 Plus any other two (2) of the following: Geography, History/Government/Civic Education, Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry /Physics/Chemistry, Computer Studies/Data Processing/ICT, Economics, Commerce, Principles of Accounts /Book -keeping/Financial Accounting, Store Keeping/Store Management, Marketing, Business Methods, Office Practice, Insurance, Entrepreneurship Education, Salesmanship.
Procurement and Supply Chain Management equips students with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage the flow of goods, services, and information across organisations and industries. Students explore core areas such as logistics management, inventory control, contract administration, supplier relationship management, purchasing principles, and strategic sourcing. Coursework also covers warehousing, distribution networks, cost optimisation, and global trade regulations, preparing graduates for the complexities of modern supply chains. Upon graduation, career opportunities span roles as procurement officers, supply chain analysts, logistics managers, and materials managers across sectors including oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, and government agencies. Graduates are encouraged to pursue professional certification through the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Nigeria (CIPSIN) or the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Nigeria (CILTN), which significantly enhances career prospects and professional credibility.
