Admission requirements for Performing Arts at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Ogun State.
Admission into the Performing Arts Department for a 4 years B.A programme: A candidate must satisfy the following conditions: i) He/she must take the Universities Matriculation Examinations in English Language, Literature in English, one Arts subject and any other subject. (The Faculty determines the minimum total score for admission (cut-off mark) each academic session. ii) He/She must obtain a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics, English Language. Literature in English, one Arts subject and any other subjects in WASC/SSCE/GCE/NECO.
Performing Arts is a dynamic and multidisciplinary programme that trains students in the creative and technical aspects of theatre, dance, music, and film production. Students explore dramatic literature, stagecraft, choreography, voice training, costume and set design, as well as the history and theory of performance traditions, including indigenous Nigerian and African theatrical forms. Graduates are well prepared to pursue careers as professional actors, theatre directors, choreographers, screenwriters, and entertainment entrepreneurs. The growing Nollywood industry, live performance circuits, and cultural tourism sector provide significant opportunities for skilled practitioners. The Society of Nigerian Theatre Artists and the Actors Guild of Nigeria provide professional platforms for networking and recognition. This programme nurtures creativity, discipline, and cultural identity in equal measure.
