Admission requirements for Home Economics & Education at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Edo State.
You must get credit passes in five O'Level subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology, and Chemistry. All five of these subjects are compulsory, so you cannot substitute any of them with other subjects.
Home Economics and Education is an interdisciplinary programme that equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, family resource management, and child development, all integrated with core educational methodologies for effective classroom instruction. Students are trained to become competent professionals who can translate domestic science into meaningful learning experiences. Graduates of this programme pursue rewarding careers as secondary school Home Economics teachers, nutritionists, consumer educators, and family life counsellors across public and private institutions. Those in teaching practice are expected to register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which regulates professional teaching standards nationwide.
