Combining the study of Igbo language and literature with the principles of political science, this interdisciplinary programme equips students with a deep understanding of Igbo linguistic heritage, cultural identity, and the dynamics of governance, public administration, and political theory. Students explore topics ranging from Igbo oral traditions, morphology, and creative writing to comparative politics, Nigerian constitutional development, and international relations. The programme produces graduates well-suited for careers in diplomacy and the Nigerian Foreign Service, public administration, journalism and media, as well as academia and language education. Graduates pursuing legal careers may eventually seek call to the Nigerian Bar Association. The programme also prepares candidates for roles within government ministries, cultural agencies, and civil society organisations shaping Nigeria's political and cultural landscape.
