Reproduction

The male reproductive system produces sperm cells needed for reproduction. The testes are two glands that make sperm, while the penis delivers sperm into the female body during intercourse. The prostate gland adds fluids that help sperm survive. Think of it like a factory—the testes manufacture the product, and other organs package and deliver it.

The female reproductive system is designed to receive sperm and nurture a developing baby. The ovaries produce eggs, the fallopian tubes transport eggs toward the uterus, and the uterus is where a baby grows for nine months. The vagina receives sperm during intercourse. For example, when a Nigerian woman visits a health clinic for antenatal care, the doctor examines her uterus to monitor her baby's development.
