Study notes for Making Decisions — part of the WAEC SSCE Christian Religious Knowledge syllabus. 1 learning objectives with explanations and exam tips.
Solomon was King of Israel who asked God for wisdom instead of wealth or power. When God granted his request, Solomon became famous for making fair and excellent decisions. His wisdom meant he could understand complex problems deeply and find solutions that satisfied everyone involved.
One perfect example is when two women claimed the same baby. Solomon suggested cutting the child in half. The real mother immediately refused, willing to give up the baby rather than see it harmed. Through this clever test, Solomon identified the true mother and returned the baby to her. This shows wisdom isn't just about intelligence—it's about understanding human nature and using clever thinking to uncover truth.
In Nigeria, when community leaders settle disputes fairly by listening carefully to both sides before judging, they display Solomon-like wisdom. Such decisions bring peace and respect.
