Walls

A wall is a vertical structure built to enclose and divide spaces in buildings. Think of it as the skeleton that holds your house together and creates rooms. Walls serve several critical functions: they provide structural support for the roof and upper floors, offer privacy and security by enclosing spaces, control temperature and weather, and divide interior spaces into different rooms.

There are two main types of walls. Load-bearing walls carry the weight of the structure above them, like the main walls supporting your family house in Lagos. Non-load-bearing walls, called partition walls, simply divide spaces without carrying structural weight. Materials vary too—you'll find concrete block walls, brick walls, and timber-framed walls common across Nigeria.
