Resources: Individual and Family

Resources are anything useful that helps you achieve your goals in life. Think of them as tools and materials available to both you and your family. These include money, time, skills, education, and even your family relationships. When your mum uses her cooking skills to prepare a meal for the family, that's a resource. When your dad spends time teaching you mathematics, that's also a resource being used.

In Nigeria, a family might use their land resource to grow vegetables for eating and selling at the market. Another family might use their educational resources—having parents who are teachers—to help children succeed in school. Every family has different resources, and how wisely you use them determines your success.

Understanding your resources helps you plan better for your future and make smart decisions about money and time.

💡 Exam tip: Always remember that resources aren't just about money—include time, skills, and relationships when answering questions about individual and family resources.
