Admission requirements for Woodwork Technology Education at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi State. (Affiliated To Atbu Bauchi), Bauchi State.
You must have credit passes in five O'level subjects: English Language, Mathematics, one subject from Biology or Agricultural Science or Physics or Chemistry, and two more subjects from the list of General Science/Integrated Science, Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Geography, Health Science, Food and Nutrition, Physical and Health Education, Auto Technical, Building, Electrical Electronic, Metal Work, or Wood Work.
Woodwork Technology Education is a discipline that equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in wood science, furniture design, joinery, cabinet making, and the pedagogy required to teach these skills effectively at secondary and technical education levels. Students explore timber technology, workshop management, technical drawing, and entrepreneurship, preparing them for diverse roles in Nigeria's growing construction and manufacturing sectors. Graduates can pursue careers as technical teachers in secondary and vocational schools, furniture designers and manufacturers, workshop managers in construction firms, or self-employed entrepreneurs running woodwork enterprises. The programme aligns with the standards of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the Technical and Vocational Education framework, ensuring graduates meet nationally recognised professional competency requirements.
