Admission requirements for Quantity Surveying at Federal Polytechnic, Kabo, Kano State, Kano State.
English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two subjects from the following: Economics/Commerce, Building Construction, Technical Drawing/Graphic Design, Civic Education, Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing & Pipe Fitting, Painting & Decorating Woodwork to IED Computer Studies Chemistry, Geography, Further Mathematics Biology, Religious Knowledge, Metal Work, Basic Electronics, A pass in Technical Drawing and/or Building Construction will be an advantage
Quantity Surveying is a five-year undergraduate programme that equips students with the technical and financial expertise required to manage construction costs and contracts. Students study subjects including building technology, construction economics, project management, land law, measurement of works, and procurement management. The programme blends engineering principles with financial analysis, preparing graduates to serve as cost consultants across Nigeria's rapidly growing built environment sector. Upon graduation, students can pursue careers as quantity surveyors in construction firms, government ministries, real estate development companies, or establish independent consultancy practices. Professional registration with the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) and the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) is essential for practising professionally and earning full recognition within the industry.
