About Public Health Technology

Public Health Technology is an interdisciplinary programme that equips students with the knowledge and skills to address community health challenges through scientific and technological approaches. Students study epidemiology, environmental health, disease surveillance, biostatistics, health education, and sanitation engineering, among other core subjects. The programme blends public health principles with practical fieldwork, preparing graduates to function effectively within Nigeria's healthcare delivery system. Upon graduation, students can pursue careers as environmental health officers, public health consultants, disease control specialists, or health policy analysts working across government agencies, NGOs, and international health organisations. Graduates may register with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON), which regulates professional practice and ensures competency standards within the field.
