Political Science and Social Studies equips students with deep analytical understanding of governance, political institutions, public policy, international relations, and the social forces shaping human societies. Students examine Nigerian political history, democratic theory, comparative government, research methodology, and contemporary global affairs, developing critical thinking and policy analysis skills essential for navigating complex societal challenges. The programme blends theoretical frameworks with practical insights into how power, culture, and institutions interact across local and global contexts. Graduates pursue rewarding careers in the Nigerian civil service, diplomacy and foreign affairs, journalism and media, as well as politics and legislative work. Those advancing into law may align with the Nigerian Bar Association, while public administration professionals often engage with relevant government regulatory frameworks and think-tank organisations driving national development conversations.
