Admission requirements for Nutrition And Dietetics at Bamidele Olumilua University Of Edu. Science And Tech. Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Ekiti State.
Candidates must have Credit passes in 5 O ‘Level’ subjects in WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO. Subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Sciences with at least a pass in Physics in not more than two sittings. The Credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up by at least a pass in Biology. In addition, an acceptable pass in UTME is required. This will be determined by the University Senate in accordance with the JAMB cut-off mark
Nutrition and Dietetics is a four to five year undergraduate programme that equips students with the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed to understand how food and nutrients affect human health. Students study biochemistry, food science, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and medical dietetics, gaining hands-on experience through hospital and community postings. Graduates are trained to assess nutritional status, design therapeutic meal plans, and promote healthy eating across diverse populations. Career opportunities in Nigeria include working as clinical dietitians in hospitals, public health nutritionists in government agencies, nutrition consultants in the food industry, and academic researchers. Graduates are eligible for registration with the Dietitians Association of Nigeria and the Allied Health Professions Registration Board of Nigeria, both of which regulate professional practice nationwide.
