Admission requirements for Nursing at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State, Kwara State.
To study Nursing, you must get credit passes in five subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English Language. All five of these subjects are compulsory, so you cannot choose different ones instead.
Nursing is a four-to-five year undergraduate programme that equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to deliver quality patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Students study foundational sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, alongside clinical nursing practice, maternal and child health, community health nursing, and mental health care. Significant time is devoted to supervised clinical placements in hospitals and primary healthcare centres, preparing graduates for real-world practice. Upon completion, graduates must register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) before practising professionally. Career opportunities in Nigeria include working as a registered nurse in public or private hospitals, pursuing midwifery, advancing into nursing education, or taking specialised roles in community and public health programmes.
