Admission requirements for Mechanical Engineering at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Oyo State, Oyo State.
You must get credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language, and one more science subject in your O'level exams, and you can sit for these exams a maximum of two times. For your fifth subject, you can choose from Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Metal Work, or any other relevant science subject that your school offers.
Mechanical Engineering is a rigorous four-to-five year undergraduate programme that equips students with the principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Students also gain hands-on experience in design, production systems, and maintenance of mechanical equipment through laboratory work and industrial attachments. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers in oil and gas, power generation, automobile maintenance, and manufacturing industries, all of which remain critical sectors of the Nigerian economy. Some graduates also find rewarding opportunities in the construction and aerospace industries. Upon graduation, engineers are expected to register with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, commonly known as COREN, which certifies their professional competence and ensures ethical practice across the engineering sector.
