YABATECH requires five (5) O Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and any other two subjects from the followings: Government, Economics/Commerce, History, Geography, Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo Language, Fine Art, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Agric. Science, Principles of Account, Civic Education and CRK/IRK.
Mass Communication equips students with a thorough understanding of media theory, journalism, public relations, advertising, broadcasting, and film production. Students develop practical skills in news writing, media ethics, digital content creation, and strategic communication, preparing them to operate effectively across traditional and emerging media platforms. Graduates pursue rewarding careers as broadcast journalists, public relations consultants, advertising executives, and media producers within Nigeria's growing entertainment and information industry. The programme also opens pathways into corporate communications and political consulting. Relevant professional bodies include the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), which provide professional certification and regulate practice standards across the industry.
