Combining theological inquiry with linguistic and cultural heritage, this interdisciplinary programme equips students with deep knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic studies, Arabic language, and the rich literary traditions of the Yoruba people. Students explore classical Islamic texts alongside Yoruba oral poetry, proverbs, history, and phonology, developing strong research, translation, and communication skills. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as secondary school teachers registered under the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Islamic scholars and community educators, cultural researchers within government heritage agencies, and media practitioners in Yoruba-language broadcasting and publishing.
