Five (5) SSC credit passes in a ny three (3) of the following: Government, Business Methods, Economics/Commerce, Religious Knowledge, Any Nigerian Language, Geography, Bookkeeping and Principles of Accounts History, Clothing and Textile, plus 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
Home and Rural Economics is a multidisciplinary programme that equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge in food science, nutrition, household management, textile and clothing, and rural development. Students explore how families and communities can improve their quality of life through efficient resource management, sustainable food production, and sound economic practices tailored to rural and semi-urban settings. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as nutritionists, home economists in government agencies, food processing entrepreneurs, and consumer education officers. Those specialising in nutrition may align professionally with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, while food technology graduates can engage with the Institute of Food Science and Technology of Nigeria. The programme remains highly relevant to Nigeria's agricultural and rural development agenda.
