UTME (4-Year Programme) Candidates must have five credits in O’ level or SSCE or NECO at not more than two sittings. Candidates who have successfully completed the senior secondary school or its equivalent and obtained five credits including English language, History/Government, and three other arts or social science subjects at the Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent will be eligible for admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
History and International Studies is a dynamic social science programme that equips students with deep analytical knowledge of world history, diplomatic relations, foreign policy, global politics, and Nigeria's political evolution. Students examine historical events, international organisations, conflict resolution, and the forces shaping modern nation-states, developing strong research, critical thinking, and communication skills along the way. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue rewarding careers in Nigeria's foreign service and diplomatic corps, policy research and think-tank organisations, journalism and media, as well as civil society and non-governmental organisations. Those advancing into legal practice may proceed to the Nigerian Law School, while careers in academia and public administration remain equally prominent.
