Admission requirements for Geography/Integrated Science at College Of Education, Ankpa, Kogi State, Kogi State.
You must have credit passes in five subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and two others from the list. For your remaining two subjects, you can choose any two of these: Integrated Science/General Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology/Health Science.
Geography/Integrated Science equips students with a broad understanding of the physical environment, spatial analysis, natural phenomena, and the interplay between human activities and ecological systems. Students explore topics such as climatology, geomorphology, cartography, environmental science, and resource management, developing both fieldwork skills and analytical competencies applicable across diverse sectors. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as urban and regional planners, environmental consultants, GIS analysts, and secondary school teachers — the last being particularly relevant given Nigeria's consistent demand for qualified science educators. Those venturing into environmental practice may align with the Nigerian Environmental Society, while town planners typically pursue membership with the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners. The programme remains a solid foundation for postgraduate specialisation across environmental and earth sciences.
