Fisheries Technology is a dynamic applied science programme that equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge in fish production, aquaculture management, post-harvest processing, and marine resource conservation. Students explore subjects such as fish biology, water quality management, fishing gear technology, seafood preservation, and fisheries economics, preparing them for a rapidly growing sector critical to Nigeria's food security and export economy. Graduates pursue rewarding careers as aquaculture farm managers, fisheries officers with state and federal agencies, seafood processing entrepreneurs, or environmental consultants working on aquatic resource management. The Fisheries Society of Nigeria provides a strong professional platform for networking and development, while graduates may also align with bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology for broader professional recognition.
