Four (4) SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCEO/L/NABTEB/GRADE II TC/SAISC credit passes in English Language, Islamic Studies and Two (2) other subjects. WAIVER: OYSCOED, LANLATE accepts at least a pass in Mathematics CONDITIONAL ADMISSION: OYSCOED, LANLATE offers conditional admission to candidates with 3 credits passes but with an ordinary pass in any of the above listed subjects PRE-NCE ADMISSION: OYSCOED, LANLATE offers Pre-NCE admission to candidates with 2 credit passes but with F9 in either Mathematics or English Language
English/Islamic Studies is a unique interdisciplinary programme that combines the rigorous study of English language, literature, and linguistics with core Islamic scholarship, including Quranic studies, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and Arabic language fundamentals. Students develop strong analytical, communicative, and theological competencies that prepare them for diverse professional roles in Nigeria's multilingual and religiously pluralistic society. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as educators in secondary and tertiary institutions, registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), as well as roles in media, publishing, and content development. Additional pathways include Islamic advisory work, diplomatic service, and administrative positions within government ministries handling religious and cultural affairs.
