**English and Igbo Studies**
Combining two rich linguistic traditions, English and Igbo Studies equips students with deep competence in literary analysis, linguistics, translation, and the cultural heritage of the Igbo people alongside mastery of the English language. Students explore oral literature, phonology, morphology, syntax, creative writing, and comparative language studies. Graduates are well-positioned to build rewarding careers as educators in secondary and tertiary institutions, professional journalists and media practitioners, translators and language consultants working with government agencies and NGOs, or published authors and cultural researchers. Those pursuing teaching professionally may register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, while journalism graduates can affiliate with the Nigerian Press Council and the Nigerian Union of Journalists, lending formal structure to their careers.
