Education and Music is a combined degree programme that equips students with foundational knowledge in both pedagogical theory and practical musical training. Students explore music history, harmony, composition, ear training, and instrumental or vocal performance, alongside core education courses covering curriculum development, educational psychology, and classroom methodology. The programme bridges artistic expression with structured teaching skills, preparing graduates to function effectively in academic and creative environments. Upon completion, graduates can pursue careers as music teachers in secondary schools, music directors in churches and cultural organisations, arts administrators, or music therapists. The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) remains the primary professional regulatory body governing certified educators from this programme, and registration is strongly advised for professional recognition and employability.
