You must have credit passes in English Language, Islamic Studies, and three other subjects at O'level. The three other subjects should be relevant to education and Islamic Studies, such as Arabic, History, Government, or similar subjects that relate to your programme.
Education & Islamic Studies is a combined degree programme that equips students with foundational knowledge in educational theory, pedagogy, and the core principles of Islamic scholarship. Students explore Quranic studies, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, Arabic language, and the history of Islam alongside curriculum development, educational psychology, and classroom methodology. The programme prepares graduates to serve as qualified Islamic Studies teachers in primary and secondary schools across Nigeria, academic researchers, curriculum developers with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, and Islamic scholars contributing to community development and religious administration. Graduates may register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, which regulates professional teaching practice nationwide.
