Education & Hausa is a combined degree programme that equips students with both pedagogical skills and deep proficiency in the Hausa language, literature, and culture. Students explore Hausa oral traditions, written literature, linguistics, and translation studies alongside core educational theories, curriculum development, and classroom methodology. Graduates are well-prepared to pursue careers as secondary school teachers of Hausa language and literature, curriculum developers with state and federal ministries of education, broadcast journalists or translators with media organisations serving northern Nigeria, and scholars in Nigerian universities and research institutions. The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) provides professional certification for graduates entering classroom practice, making registration with the council an important step toward formal teaching employment across Nigeria.
