Admission requirements for Education & Biology at Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State, Kebbi State.
Five O’ Level credits including English Language and Mathematics with three other relevant science subjects in not more than two (2) sittings. In addition, students should also have an acceptable score in the UTME and Post-UTME Screening examination organised by the University. Candidates must in addition to these requirements satisfy the admission requirements stipulated by the teaching subjects departments in the Faculty of Science.
Education & Biology is a dual-discipline programme that equips students with strong foundations in biological sciences alongside professional training in pedagogy and teaching methodologies. Students explore core areas such as genetics, ecology, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology, while simultaneously developing competencies in curriculum development, classroom management, and educational psychology. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as secondary school Biology teachers, science education researchers, curriculum developers with state and federal ministries of education, or education officers within non-governmental organisations. Those advancing into research or laboratory-based roles may align with bodies such as the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria. Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria remains essential for professional practice within any formal educational setting across the country.
