Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at one sitting or Six (6) ‘O’ level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Government or History and three or four other subjects.
Early Childhood Education is a degree programme that equips students with the knowledge and skills required to nurture and educate children from birth through age eight. Students study child development theories, curriculum planning, classroom management, educational psychology, and inclusive education practices tailored to Nigeria's diverse learning environment. The programme also covers health, nutrition, and the socio-emotional needs of young learners. Graduates are well-positioned to build rewarding careers as preschool and nursery school teachers, curriculum developers, childcare centre administrators, and early childhood education consultants within government and NGO settings. Relevant professional bodies include the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which regulates teaching practice nationwide, and graduates are strongly encouraged to obtain their teaching licence upon completion.
