Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
Dentistry and Dental Surgery is a rigorous five-year undergraduate programme that equips students with comprehensive knowledge and clinical skills in oral health care. Students study foundational sciences including anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry before advancing into specialised areas such as oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and paediatric dentistry. Extensive clinical rotations ensure graduates develop hands-on competence in diagnosing and treating dental conditions across diverse patient populations. Upon graduation, students complete a mandatory one-year internship and must register with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) before practising professionally. Career opportunities include hospital-based dental practice within federal and state health institutions, private dental clinic ownership, academic and research positions in tertiary institutions, and roles within public health agencies addressing community oral health challenges across Nigeria.
