Admission requirements for Computer Science at Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Ondo State.
Five (5) SSC credit passes in Mathematics, a basic science and three (3) other subjects chosen from the following: Economics, Geography, Government/History, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science. English Language, Typewriting, 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and Physics is compulsory.
Computer Science is a four-year undergraduate programme that equips students with strong foundations in programming, algorithms, data structures, software engineering, database management, artificial intelligence, and computer networks. Students also explore cybersecurity, operating systems, and emerging technologies that are reshaping industries across Nigeria and beyond. The programme blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training, preparing graduates to solve real-world technological challenges. Upon graduation, students can pursue careers as software developers, systems analysts, cybersecurity specialists, or data scientists, with opportunities spanning fintech, telecommunications, government agencies, and oil and gas sectors. Graduates are encouraged to register with the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), the recognised professional body that regulates computing practice and certifies practitioners nationwide.
