Admission requirements for Computer Science at Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Ekiti State.
The Minimum entry requirements into National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science are Five (5) Credits passes in WASC/NECO/ GCE O’level/SSCE/ NABTEB Examination at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects must include: 1. English; 2. Mathematics; 3. Physics; 4. Plus any two (2) of the following: Chemistry, Agricultural Science/Biology/Animal Husbandry/Food & Nutrition, Statistics, Economics /Commerce, Technical Drawing. Additional/Further Mathematics, Geography, ICT/Computer Studies/Data Processing, Fine Arts.
Computer Science is a four-year undergraduate programme that equips students with strong foundations in programming, algorithms, data structures, software engineering, database management, artificial intelligence, and computer networks. Students also explore cybersecurity, operating systems, and emerging technologies that are reshaping industries across Nigeria and beyond. The programme blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training, preparing graduates to solve real-world technological challenges. Upon graduation, students can pursue careers as software developers, systems analysts, cybersecurity specialists, or data scientists, with opportunities spanning fintech, telecommunications, government agencies, and oil and gas sectors. Graduates are encouraged to register with the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), the recognised professional body that regulates computing practice and certifies practitioners nationwide.
