Five (5) ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at two sittings to include: English Language, Biology/Agric Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and anyone/two of Geography, Physics and Economics.
Animal Science is a dynamic undergraduate programme that equips students with in-depth knowledge of livestock production, animal nutrition, genetics, breeding, and veterinary basic sciences. Students explore the management of cattle, poultry, swine, and aquatic animals, alongside meat science, pasture management, and animal physiology. The curriculum blends theoretical foundations with practical farm experience, preparing graduates for Nigeria's growing agricultural sector. Career opportunities span livestock farming and agribusiness entrepreneurship, animal feed production and consultancy, meat processing and quality control, as well as research and extension services with government agencies. Graduates may also pursue advanced studies leading to professional registration with bodies such as the Animal Science Association of Nigeria, while contributing meaningfully to national food security and rural economic development.
