Admission requirements for Agricultural Technology at Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, Ogun State.
WAEC, GCE [O/L], SSCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent with Five (5) Credits Passes in not more than two sittings. The subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agric. Science, Chemistry and any other one form the following subjects: Food & Nutrition, Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing, Physics, Nigerian Languages, Geography, Home Economics/Home Management, Computer Studies, Implements and Machines, French, Crop Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Forestry
Agricultural Technology is a practice-oriented programme designed to equip students with technical and scientific knowledge in modern farming systems, crop production, soil management, livestock husbandry, and post-harvest technology. Students explore agricultural mechanisation, irrigation techniques, pest and disease control, and food processing, bridging the gap between theoretical agronomy and practical field application. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as farm managers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, agricultural extension officers, and food processing technologists across Nigeria's growing agricultural sector. The programme also opens pathways into government agencies such as the Agricultural Development Programme and private agro-allied industries.
