Physiotherapy is a five-year undergraduate programme that equips students with comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and rehabilitative sciences. Students learn to assess, diagnose, and treat physical dysfunction and movement disorders arising from injury, illness, or disability, gaining practical clinical competencies across orthopaedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary care, and sports medicine. Upon graduation, students must register with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTBN), the statutory body regulating physiotherapy practice nationwide. Career opportunities span hospital-based clinical practice within public and private health institutions, sports physiotherapy with professional athletic organisations, community rehabilitation programmes, and academic or research roles within tertiary institutions.
