Nursing Science is a rigorous health sciences programme that equips students with both the theoretical knowledge and practical clinical skills needed to deliver quality patient care. Students study core subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, maternal and child health, psychiatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and community health nursing. Hands-on clinical placements in hospitals and health centres form an essential component of training, preparing graduates for real-world healthcare environments. Upon completion, graduates must register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) before practising professionally. Career opportunities are broad and rewarding, spanning clinical nursing in public and private hospitals, community and primary healthcare delivery, nursing education and academia, and roles within international health organisations operating across Nigeria.
