Islamic Studies and Arabic programmes equip students with deep knowledge of Quranic sciences, Islamic jurisprudence, Arabic language and linguistics, Islamic history, and comparative religion. Students develop proficiency in classical and modern Arabic while exploring the intellectual traditions of Islamic civilisation and their relevance to contemporary society. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as Arabic language teachers in secondary schools and tertiary institutions, Islamic scholars and religious advisors, translators and interpreters for government agencies, international organisations, and diplomatic missions, as well as researchers and academics in Islamic thought and culture. Those venturing into education may register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, while careers in diplomacy align well with opportunities in Nigeria's foreign service and multilateral institutions across the Muslim world.
