Environmental Health Technology is a dynamic programme that equips students with the scientific and practical knowledge needed to identify, assess, and control environmental hazards that threaten public health. Students study subjects such as epidemiology, food hygiene, waste management, water sanitation, occupational health, and environmental legislation, gaining hands-on experience through field placements and laboratory work. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as environmental health officers in local government councils, public health inspectors with state ministries of health, sanitation consultants in the oil and gas sector, or health and safety officers in manufacturing industries. The Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON) regulates practice in this field, and registered professionals are recognized across government agencies, NGOs, and private organizations committed to promoting healthier communities nationwide.
