About Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering is a four to five year undergraduate programme that equips students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills needed to design, analyse, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. Students study core subjects including circuit theory, electromagnetic fields, power systems, control engineering, electronics, telecommunications, and digital systems, alongside mathematics and applied physics. Laboratory sessions and industrial training attachments further prepare graduates for real-world engineering challenges. Upon graduation, students can pursue careers in power generation and distribution companies, telecommunications firms, oil and gas operations, or manufacturing industries. Graduates are expected to register with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, popularly known as COREN, which regulates professional engineering practice and ensures technical standards are upheld across the country.
