Economics Education is a dynamic degree programme that blends economic theory with pedagogical training, equipping students with the skills to teach economics effectively at secondary and tertiary levels. Students study microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, curriculum development, educational psychology, and research methods, gaining both subject mastery and classroom competency. The programme prepares graduates for diverse careers, including teaching in public and private secondary schools, curriculum development roles within the educational sector, economic policy analysis in government ministries, and positions in financial institutions. Graduates may register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) to practise professionally as certified educators. Those pursuing economics-focused roles may also align with bodies such as the Nigerian Economic Society to advance their professional standing.
