About Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering is a four to five year undergraduate programme that equips students with the principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and engineering to design, optimise, and manage industrial processes involving chemical transformations. Students study core subjects including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, process control, and materials science, alongside practical laboratory and plant design sessions. The programme prepares graduates for rewarding careers in Nigeria's oil and gas sector, petrochemical refining, food and beverage manufacturing, and pharmaceutical production. Registered engineers practise under the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, commonly known as COREN, which sets professional standards and ensures ethical practice across all engineering disciplines nationwide. Graduates remain highly sought after across both public and private sectors.
