Arabic and French Language Studies equips students with advanced proficiency in two of the world's most strategically significant languages, combining linguistics, literature, translation, cultural studies, and communication skills across both Arabic and French traditions. Students explore classical and modern Arabic texts alongside Francophone literature, developing competence in reading, writing, speaking, and interpretation within diverse professional contexts. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue rewarding careers as diplomatic officers, translators and interpreters, journalists covering North African and Francophone regions, and educators in secondary and tertiary institutions. The programme also opens opportunities within international organisations such as the United Nations and African Union. While no single regulatory body governs language professionals in Nigeria, membership in the Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters strengthens professional credibility considerably.
