Adult and Non-Formal Education equips students with the knowledge and skills required to design, implement, and evaluate educational programmes targeted at out-of-school youth, adult learners, and marginalised communities. Students explore curriculum development for non-traditional settings, literacy and numeracy instruction, community development strategies, vocational training facilitation, and educational psychology as it applies to mature learners. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as adult education officers within federal and state ministries of education, community development specialists with NGOs, literacy programme coordinators, and vocational training facilitators in technical institutions. The Nigerian Adult and Non-Formal Education Association provides a professional framework guiding practitioners in this field. The programme ultimately produces change agents committed to lifelong learning and national development goals.
